Dear Students,

Welcome to America!!  We welcome guests to our home to improve English skills while discovering the wonderful things that Los Angeles area has to offer.  We live in a beautiful area of Walnut (a suburb of Los Angeles) in a very nice, safe neighborhood. I have two children who are NOW adults and living on their own. We are very active and love to travel and visit places and work around the house also. There is so much to do around Los Angeles and we do it together as a family. We have hosted many students from Spain, Vietnam, India, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Brazil, Russia, and China. 

We live in a 3 bedrooms and a loft with 3 bathrooms house.  You will have your own bedroom but will have to share a bathroom with another Exchange Student. We have a big backyard with a swimming POOL and a SPA. There is also an upright PIANO in the house.  We have high-speed internet throughout the house so you will be able to do your schoolwork and/or talk to your family and friends whenever you want and anywhere in the house.  You can also do work in the backyard as it offers a patio with tables, chairs and fire pit.  We also have all the household conveniences you would want such as a washer and dryer, dishwasher, cable television, etc.  All utilities are included in the rent.  We are very close to Mount San Antonio College (a mile away) and CalPoly Pomona (2 miles away), and about 20 minutes away from CalPoly Fullerton, Citrus College, Azusa Pacific University, Rio Hondo College, and Whittier College.  

We want you to know that as a family we have been hosting students from Vietnam, Spain, India, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Brazil, Russia, and China for years. We welcome other countries to join us. Please note that we ONLY host FEMALE students. Our area is popular for International students but I am always willing to help students find homes in other areas of Walnut or other cities in the vicinity so don't hesitate to contact me. My home placement fee is $200 dollars and airport pick up is $60, one way. The home placement fee is only if I have to find a student a home, if my home is full. I am also able to help  tourists that are looking for hotels or homestay. This fee covers the necessary paper work and also includes one on one support from a licensed Home Stay Coordinator who will assist you with all your needs. 

Our community has very friendly neighbors. We are about a half an hour to the beach where you can swim, surf, kayak, or just hang out and get a tan and half an hour away from the mountains of Big Bear and Lake Arrowhead where one can snowboard or skii.  Our town is extremely casual and everyone just wants to relax and have fun.

We are open to having people stay with us for any length of time, but are particularly suited for students who would like to stay for longer periods of time.  Our school system is excellent and I am very familiar with it because both my children graduated in the same school and one of them just got her     .  

I am offering a furnished room with bed, television, floor to ceiling mirrored closet, dresser, ceiling fan, and wireless internet.  Please note that I provide all your breakfast and dinner ONLY and you will be included in all of our family trips and outings. You will be treated as part of our family. We feel that the knowledge and interactions that we have with these students make us better human beings. We hope that we will have a chance to continue this multicultural exchange.  And in exchange, I hope you will share your culture with us.
